Remodel

Our apartment was the perfect size as newlyweds; for a family of 5, not so much. We are grateful that we are able to live here, but it’s challenging to find space for all our stuff and keep it looking nice. We recently switched bedrooms with the kids so they’d have more space for all their toys. That was a good change, but pushed a lot of our stuff out into the living room. I even had a craft table set up in the living room for a while. For a long time I’ve dreamed of changing everything around. Two nights ago, as my husband and I talked, he suggested a bit of a remodel. He’s not done with school and we’re trying to deal with the fact that we’ll probably be here for a while. I am beyond excited about a remodel. I’m also a little scared. It’s gone from painting the ceiling (which we still haven’t done since we had that leak back in April…), mounting the t.v. on the wall, and changing up furniture to fixing the window sills, repainting the whole living room, new blinds, and much more. I guess we just figure if we’re going to go to the trouble of doing it, we might as well make it nice!

I’ve been looking around for some color inspiration. There is a jewel of a website that I want to share. I LOVE this site. I get looking and easily forget why I’m looking because the pictures and colors are so beautiful and unique. The site is called Design Seeds, anyone ever heard of it? Here is a sample of what you’ll see there:

What do you think? Absolutely gorgeous! I spend hours at that site just looking… terrible I know. The pictures are just so inspiring, I have a bazillion projects I want to work on as a result. When we finish the living room, if we end up using one of her color palettes, I’d like to make a print of it and put it on a shelf, just to help tie it all together and show what inspired us! Plus I just love the photos!

If you’re interested in following our remodel (which will be slow going since we’re on a budget!) I’ll probably be posting about it on my other blog. Feel free to check it out!

You should check out Pinterest.com for inspiration too. I could spend hours on that site with all the fun decorating ideas and you can sign in and save your favorites and follow your friend's fun finds. (I have an invite if you need one.)

Good luck! And have fun. :)
