This little boy joined our family.
He’s gone from this tiny premature baby, weighing in at 3 lbs, 9oz, to this huge kid!
I’ve included some pictures from his birthday. We kept it simple this year… maybe next year he’ll want a party. He wanted a rainbow cake, so here are the boys helping make it.
The batter:
I let the birthday person choose their meal. Kaden loves sweet and sour chicken so we had that with rice, corn, and some fruit salad.
Kyla absolutely loved the fruit salad. It was pretty entertaining to watch her eat!
He wanted a Star Wars cake, so we put some of his star wars toys on the top. Can you tell which ones?
We bought him an AT-AT walker for all his Star Wars figures.
I thought the cake turned out pretty cool. It was fun to make and the boys really enjoyed it.
I love the face he’s making in this picture. He LOVED his gift from Grandpa and Grandma Jensen. It makes mealtimes fun! Thank you!
Here are the boys enjoying the new toys.
All in all it was a nice day. Kaden’s primary teacher even stopped by with a little gift. When I started this post (over a month ago) I was feeling extremely sentimental. Having a 5-year-old is a big deal for me. He’s registered for kindergarten, which he’s super excited for. I love this boy. But, instead of dwelling on the fact that he’s getting so big and growing up so fast now I’m just trying to enjoy it. I’m excited for the future and all that it holds for him. I just hope I can do all in my power to prepare him for what lies ahead.
In case you’re just dying to know which characters were on top of his cake, it was the Emperor, Count Dooku, and General Grievous vs. Kit Fisto, Obi Wan Kenobi, and a Storm Trooper.
