On a daily basis Aaron says things that just make us laugh or absolutely confound us. Today was no exception.
I took him grocery shopping with me after dropping Kaden off at school. He’s good to stay with me until I start checking out. At Smith’s the electronic section is right by the checkouts and they have a big screen t.v. with a movie playing all the time. He wanders off by the t.v. to watch, lately it’s been Cars 2. Today he just walked right into the electronics section and went to the lady that works there. They started talking and then walked off together. I was afraid she thought he was lost… They went straight to the t.v. The movie was on the menu and Aaron went to have her start it.
This is the second time he’s done that. And it’s been the same woman both times. I kept an eye on him while I finished checking out, then went over to him and told him it was time to go. The woman told him it’s his job to come find her whenever the movie isn’t playing. He thought that was great.
Brad’s been trying to teach the boys some manners lately. At church they’re always trying to push past Kyla’s seat to get out before her. So he’s been telling them “ladies first” to get them to stay back until she’s out of her chair.
Today, when we got home from picking up Kaden from school, The boys were fighting over who was going to get out first. They were going out the other door, so they weren’t hurting Kyla. Aaron was closest to the door, but Kaden pushed past him and said, “No, I’m first. I always get out first.” Aaron pulled back and said, “Alright, always ladies first.”
It was so unexpected. It’s been days since they’ve heard that and Brad just started that with them this past Sunday. I had to turn my head so they couldn’t see me fighting the laughter. Normally I wouldn’t think that was funny. But coming from a 3 year old that’s only heard it once or twice and managed to turn it on his brother with such ease… I couldn’t help it.
